Edit: Some guy said he put it in windows 7 compatibility mode but when I try to do it everything but Windows 7 & 8 are list under the "compatibility" tab, so I couldn't try that.(if you're running Win 7)
"{fullscreen}1" and change the 1 to 0 so the game will launch in windowed mode. Now you can either keep playin in windowed or fix the resolution in settings till something fits your screen correctly.
Most games that dont launch (in my experience) is something to do with your screen resolution and the default game resolution not pairing well so it instantly minimizes or crashes. i get this a lot cause i play on a HD tv.
New game > Insta crashes on start > Worst $10 ever spent > Not even sure if worth persuing how to fix.
Tried this and it is still not working
In your game folder where you find the "config" file, you need to do one or two things with the "DotP_D15.exe" file. First, you may need to check the game for compatibility issues (right-click the filename, click Troubleshoot compatibility, and run the wizard). Once you've done this, you need to right-click the filename again and click Run as administrator.

Pasting here in case it helps anyone.
Unfortunately, this didn't fix this same issue for a different game
