Greetings, Villagers:

Good news... 'Kill a Million Rats' is now ready for release, and will be launched on 16 January 2025!

I've been making games solo for a long time now, releasing my first Flash game way back in 2007... the goal has always been to continue trying something new and interesting with every release. 'Kill a Million Rats' is a base-building roguelite strategy game, and it will be my 6th game on Steam.

My deepest gratitude to you and all the other players, for playing the demo, for sharing feedback and suggestions, and for your support throughout the years. Without the players, none of this would have ever been possible, so THANK YOU.

I hope everyone will enjoy this game as much as I've enjoyed making it!

Hello, Villagers!

As the Spirit of Vengeance continues his crusade against the Rats, a new update brings the demo to v0.9.8.3

- Animal Guardians and a permanent Tech Tree have been added, each with a specific upgrade path
- You can now choose a specific Weapon for each run
- The Spirit of Vengeance now changes his appearance based on your abilities
- Many other systems have been overhauled and improved

THANK YOU for all the feedback you've shared so far! I've made some changes to the demo (now version 0.9.7.3):

- Rats now attack daily
- Seasons have been shortened to 5 days each
- A brand new Magic Rune system: basically upgradeable tiles that can be inscribed with additional symbols over time. It combines the previous Summoning and Power Boost systems into a unified combat system that is tactical, intuitive and (most importantly) much more fun

THANK YOU to all the players who tried the demo in the latest Steam Next Fest!

Based on the feedback collected from players, I've made some changes to the demo (now version 0.9.7.1):

- Combat is much more streamlined and fun, with a single large wave of enemies instead of three separate waves
- Many more Rats, and you can now see how many Rats will be coming in the next wave
- Clarified descriptions such as how Mushrooms work and what the special units actually do
- All Combat upgrades are now permanent, and the upgrading of Battle Powers is automatic
- Enemies can only spawn a minimum distance away from the Village Bell
- A new Treasure system: choose one powerful Treasure after each battle, which may drastically change your strategy for that run
- A summary screen has been added after every run
