I have been playing games like this for a very long time. In fact, just finished a play though of JA3.

Seems fairly balanced. Combat works great.

Graphics are mediocre. Reminds me of games in the '90s.
Interface is clunky. Maybe I'm just spoiled by JA3 and other games, but having to switch ready items to use them (healing or grenades) then select the action is one step too many.
No option to rearrange the squad members and no markers to show specialization - engineer, sniper, medic.
No key bindings or options to change any of the controls beyond switching the x/y axis on the mouse.
The common key uses in most games is missing. ESC does,t bring up the menu, you have to select a button on the interface. Camera controls aren't WASDQE, only the mouse controls the camera.
Selecting a location for units to move to isn't very precise. It seems as if the grid they used for movement is too large.

I just couldn't get into the game.
I tried a couple of times, but the interface really doesn't lend itself to playing on a PC.
