Is it possible save/stop the game during a level without loosing the progress?

Hello, I love this game, but I'm a bit puzzled about the game saving. Is there a way to save during a level in order to continue later again - a real save/close whereafter I can shut down my SteamDeck? Also I've once checked out the selected "Level Selection" during a level and lost my game, because I couldn't go back (or I did not see the option). My level progress was gone without any dialoge like "Do you want to abort your current game?" or something like that. Thank you in advance....

A small feedback on the demo.

i really enjoy it. The Art style and gameplay are both good. The only thing i'd like, though, is that i would like to use "ASD" to change colors and move the character with only the arrows.
