The Scout and the bipod
For those that own The Scout, what is your experience with the bipod? I have a feeling it works really well when you can aim the gun up and down a little. When you shoot prone are you able to adjust in all situations? I ask because right now when prone with other rifles sometimes the angle cannot be adjusted without shooting prone.

the angle issue in prone is an ages old problem in all games that have a so called open 3d world.

you just have to move a bit to find a spot where you can move your gun a little more. i get this often up/down hills or on a rock.

i dont have that scout with a bipod, but my experience in other games is that it causes even more issues to find a spot where you can deploy the weapon on the pod and have a propper angle to aim where you wanted XD

sadly there is no game to my knowledge where this is not mentioned by the community. everyone wants that fixed, but its obviously not so easy depending on game engine, weapon, buildings, other cosmetic world items and player 3D models.

i dont make that to a problem anymore because i am already used to that kind of restriction, in the end youll get used to that too ;)

this game is not that bad regarding this issue ^^ i play more modern games where that can be a real nuisance (HLL, find a spot to deploy the MG, in that time you get spotted and one shot killed XD)

Don't waste money on the Scout unless you have money to burn or really want it to complete the relevant mission pack. If you want to use it prone you will have to move position in most cases. It's either pointing at the ground/in the air or has too much lean and can't get the target in frame. The automatic tripod deployment ruins the prone performance in most cases, making it worse than other rifles. If you find yourself on ideal flat ground where it can be used then yes it's rock solid, but this is a rare occurrence in the field.

Its very much a double jeopardy item. Finding a place to deploy and making sure you load the right ammo. However, it works very well from a permanent or deployable stand or tripod where you can shoot long range with little or no wobble either standing or crouching in the stand.

Don't you disrespect my longbow like that!

One is an item with a terribly implemented feature that makes it nigh unusable.
The other is a millennia old traditional weapon that is used for an added challenge.
They are not the same.

I honestly quite love the scout  having used both the standard and elite for quite a long time now (N I will grind for the creator version too at some point:marijaonlooker:), but yeah there are quite a few maps where it just does not work well.

Works best on any map that does not have much foliage or that has a lot of rocks.
Bushrangers run is prolly the best map for it, whiterim too is alr.
Hemmeldal can be alr too, but the rocks on that map are a bit wonky same with val-des-bois.

Rest of the maps have just a bit too much foliage for it to really be useful and using the bipod to shoot from the road is a little annoying:awkward:

The ammunition is also slightly more expensive for it and it has two types for it. Meaning you need to remember which to use for what n to switch out (I sometimes forget:sadMio:)

I personally find it fun to use, I do enjoy the bipod (When it isn't being picky about the position:burofailed:) although I would only recommend getting it if you just want something new or if you really enjoy hunting in bushrangers run.
Any other rifle is more practical than the scout (except the .405, id argue it's less practical:captainclown:)

Its by far one of the best guns guns in the game coming from someone that owns every weapon, not only Is the species list incredibly versatile its one of the few guns in the game where both ammunition can take the same species what is very handy if your hunting say Lynx on hemmeldal and see a nice reindeer, Long as you've always got HV loaded Its ethical!

Too people that complain about the bi-pod Its so easy use its stupid, Yes if your on weird ground It wont work but literally once you get to ~100 kills you know very well on what and what does not work.

Aiming wise drop? eagle scope, aim at the top of the notch at 300m on medium sized species Its about in-line with most other guns however *it is* a little more effected by wind.

The elite (black) holds 10 rounds, a body shot on a feral goat Is an instadrop.... very fun BRR gun!
its actually realistic in the sense that the real scout rifle doesn't have a adjustable bipod
