The games contained in this remaster were generally far less popular than the ones in the I-III remaster trilogy, everyone was well aware of that.

However, I'm going to review the remaster itself, not whether the games in it are better or worse. This review is to reflect that I can't recommend this remaster in its current state.

If you're ok with just playing TR Chronicles, then it's fine, the remaster quality is great and consistent from start to end. As for the other two games though, the developers already acknowledged in social media and an interview, shortly after release, that some parts of TRIV's late game and a good chunk of TRVI need more work, since they didn't have the time to do all the polish they wanted before the 14 February deadline for release.

Same situation also happened in I-III remaster, however, the first patch for that one came out a month after release, and a second patch another month after it. TRIV-VI has also been rushed for release on 14 February this year, and we're getting close to two months since release with zero communication from the developer/publisher on when the update is estimated to come, what it will do, or if it will even be enough to put all three games at the level of polish the developers intended.

That means that not only the publisher/developer did not learn from their mistake of rushing parts of the first remaster to meet the deadline, they actually made the mistake worse. At least until this gets its already promised update and we can see how much it does and how much work is left, it's hard to recommend.

This remaster is beautiful, HOWEVER, TR Chronicles still has glitches that will softlock your game. AOD is good as far as controls go but the graphics are extremely lazy. Some NPCs that you interact with are not remastered WHATSOEVER. TR TLR is top tier from my experience so far, I haven't encountered any issues with it. I'm torn between recommending this or not in its current state. I think with time, a few patches, and constructive reviews it will be great. PS: I waited my entire life for these 3 games to be remastered so maybe I am biased for "recommending" it.

The first Remastered was my favorite game of last year (I finished 1-3), and so far this one seems even better. TR4 is gorgeous, and I'm finding the puzzles and action very satisfying.
