But then again, the sound files are from the OG games. It was the late 90's and early 2000's. What did everyone expect from a remaster other than files that were updated to play on modern systems?

I prefer this over most games from 2010 and onward.

If there is a way to find that sound effect as a audio file within the game files then you could lower the decibel of it.
I did that with the Turok 2 remaster because the sounds made when climbing a ladder were a bit to high to my tastes.

Im still waiting for a patch or two before i jump into this game tho.

That's funny that bothers you. Hey my dad walked in one time when I was playing Metal Gear Solid 2 and ask why it sounded like he (solid snake) was wearing high heels when he walked. 😂
