With only 57 skill points at your disposal, how would you spend them?
A hypothetical question for fun (and because I'm starting a new playthrough with these rules).

Let's say you could only spend 57 skill points for an entire run, how would spend them? You are also not allowed to use fergetin elixir either.

Why 57? Because it's 20% of the total SP it takes to max out a character (287).

Feel free to use this skill calculator tool and post a link

PER 10
Dead Eye 5
Spear Master 5
Demolitions Expert 5
Penetrator 4
Salvage Operations 4
STR 5
Miner 69r 4
Motherload 4
INT 4
Adv Engineering 2
Grease Monkey 1

If I can use attribute mods then a PER mod & cigar which would free up 4 points that I'd probably use to bring INT to 6 and Adv Eng to 3, or just Lucky Looter 4, not sure.

Honestly, I would probably go straight down agility and grab almost everything. I hardly ever used to play agility and now it's like my favorite. I'm not sure how many points it would take for everything but it's probably pretty close to that.
Whatever I had left I would probably throw into a little bit of strength just for mining. Or maybe perception for wrenching.

I got pretty sick of strength, and I don't really like going intellect anymore either. So agility has been my go-to for the last couple months of vanilla.

My builds are usually pretty boring and straightforward 🤔

Pain Weasel: I forgot about the skill mods. Good call on that. The cigar is always my go-to.

thestile: The maxed out agility actually sounds like a fun challenge. I haven't done a 1 skill tree only series since around A19. I also haven't messed around with stealth too much in 1.0 either. Good idea.

With the qualifier that I never play above Warrior and use 150% player block damage eg, I wouldn't be in a particularly challenging difficulty/can live without stats at 10/maxed perks:

Perception - 5
----Dead Eye - 3
----Infiltrator - 1
----Lucky Looter - 4 (I like faster loot speed)
----Salvage Operations -4 (I like salavaging everything for dukes and iron)

Agility - 7
---- Gunslinger - 4 (pistols early on, Desert backups the Sniper, later)
----Deep Cuts - 4 (Machette, sneaking, long nights)
----Whirlwind - 2
----Run n Gun - 3
----Light Armor - 4
----Parkour - 3
----Hidden Strike - 4
----From the Shadows -4

Because there are extra points after that:

Strength - 1/default
----PackMule - 1 (helpful early on)
----Miner 68r - 1 (since 1.0, I find I almost never use mining tools...)
----Mother Lode - 1

Fortitude - 1/default
----Living Off the Land - 1
----Cardio - 1 (I stay on foot most of the time/don't like vehicles, it's helpful)

Intelligence - nothing. I'm a sneaky sword and ranged sniping dunce.

57 is a ton of points hmm

I typically rush 8 strength and 4/5 into sledges until both mods get me to 10 strength and 5/5 skull crusher.

Then it's 3 INT for lvl 1 physician to instant heal sprains

Then 7 Agility and 7 Fortitude for max medium armor and 4/5 parkour and stun resist.

I think you can hit that baseline at level 45 or so with the remaining 12 points I decide on my gun of choice and a few quality of life picks. Usually 5 into shotguns, 1 into cooking, 3 into buff duration, 1 living off the land and 1 into miner and 1 into mother load.

I generally play on 25% XP, and 3 trader jobs a day. I will let you know about 57 points in about 2 months.
