SteamVR

Unable to select OpenXR runtime
As above my OpenXR options are missing and it's causing issues. After uninstalling and reinstalling 3 times SteamVR no longer has the option for me to toggle on and off OpenXR settings

This is causing games to not load in certain cases.

The OpenXR settigns are in its own tab now, and it's only accessible from the desktop menu, not in VR.

Both in the HMD dashboard and the desktop menu the options for OPENXR are missing. It just says "NO OPENXR API LAYERS INSTALLED"

Can you post a screenshot of the settings menu?

If I enable OpenXR most of my games stop working. I recommend against it.

There is no such thing as "enabling" OpenXR. All the SteamVR menu lets you do is to select SteamVR as the active OpenXR runtime. If you have a third-party headset, you can often change to the vendors own runtime instead, from their own software.

What freaking desktop menu. All you people that say this never say where the damn menu is!

In the SteamVR desktop widget, click the hamburger icon in the top left corner, and click settings.

Yeah in the developer settings
I have the same issue: OpenXR is simply missing as an API, thus I cannot play games like Beatsaber anymore.

Anyone have any idea what to do?

Make sure you have the headset connected to SteamVR and running, and the menu should have an OpenXR tab where you can set the active runtime.

What headset and SteamVR version are you using?

I have had the same issue for months now and Steam support was not able to help. What you will need to do is use the registry and the env variables to load the SteamXR runtime instead of the menu.
