Unable to reach things
Due to physical space I'm unable to grab things in SteamVR Home.

I use VR sitting or kneeling on a bed so I can't grab things down on a floor. I managed to use 2 branches as chopsticks + a box to get a cache off the floor. :) I imagine anyone using while seated has this problem.

Oculus Home deals with this by allowing you to point and grab things from a distance; e.g. a magic wand or magnet tool.
A crouch button would work too just so we can reach the floor. (There's plenty of unused buttons on my controllers.)

This is by far the biggest issue I have with Home.

Or, you know, a gun that could do something like maybe manipulating gravity to pull objects toward you. Too bad Valve hasn't made anything like that in their past games.

Seriously though, I agree. Being able to pick up things from the ground while standing would be a huge quality-of-life improvement.

lol yea some kind of gravity gun, too bad they've never done that... or at least a crowbar. A hook would be useful.

I second that. I am using VR from a sitting position as well. Plus some people may not even have the physical ability to reach things. I am kind of suprised there is no tool for remote or distance manipulation yet.

This has been one of my biggest issues with SteamVR Home and why I turn it off so often. Microsoft's Cliff House handles this quite well, and I wish that they'd simply copy that movement/interaction scheme. As mentioned above, this is horrible where accessibility is concerned. To be fair, VR gaming in general is very hit & miss when it comes to accessibility, with about half of the games that I have tried requiring you to stand, crouch, reach/move so far forward that you pretty much need the same space to play as you would a Kinect... which is ridiculous when you think about it.

Having said that, SteamVR Home should absolutely have some accessibility considerations built in, but they seem to be very stubborn when it comes to how they think we should experience it.

Did they ever fix this a year later, or is there a mod/patch cuz it seems to still be a problem.

Just getting into VR, currently sitting, and even when I fold double and reach down to the floor, I can't pick up items. The Microsoft Home lets me grab and manipulate items remotely, why not Steam Home? D: Steam Home even has a multitool, but no remote use on it? Wtf?
