VR Floor Slightly Tilted
I’m using the following hardware:

2 x Index Base stations 2.0
Quest 2 Headset + Link Cable
3 x Vive Tracker 3.0

Whenever I’m in VR, the virtual floor is angled very slightly, no matter what I do. I’ve reset everything, redone my play space, deleted configs, shifted the base stations. Nothing seems to help.

There’s no mirrors or reflective surfaces.

How is the virtual floor calculated?

What do I need to do to make it calculate correctly?

Are you saying that the steam play space floor is determined by the Quest 2 and not the base stations?

Q2 is not tracked by base stations. They don’t communicate with each other at all. I’m more amazed at how far you’ve went to get base station tracked FBT. Might as well gotten a base station tracked headset in the first place than the jank system you have that inevitably and eventually drifts.

The Q2 makes it’s own floor space and relays that data to SteamVR. The base stations also make their own play space with the Vive trackers and also sends that data back. Your workaround involves merging both of these play spaces. Your quest 2 is more likely to drift it’s floor space as moving furniture around or just turning it on at different times can slowly affect your position.

I didn't set out out to do FBT with a Quest 2. I got the Quest 2 first, then quite a while later decided to get into FBT, otherwise yes, I would have jumped for a Steam VR headset right away.

The issue is shown as in game (VRChat) when physically walking, slowly getting higher off the ground. Given I'm using Vive trackers, does that imply its't the Steam space or the Oculus space that's shifted? I'd assume the Steam space, since the feet are tracked, but that's the one I'd assume is most accurate.

Physically walking does not mean that the trackers are determining your position in game. When using vive trackers for fullbody, if their positions were shifted, you'd start to see your in-game legs start crouching or spazzing out but the rest of your body ie head and hands should remain where they are. If you are seeing your entire avatar move up, that's your headsets playspace being messed up. Hence your oculus playspace has drifted. Base Station playspaces don't drift unless the base stations themselves are moved. You'll have to resync the two spaces. Expect to do this regularly until you change to a base station tracked headset. It's a common problem for those who use inside-out tracked headsets and base station full body trackers.

Have you maybe found a solution?

Buying an Index. haha as far as I can tell, based on the above comments and reading around, the most likely cause is the Quest isn't all that accurate in it's tracking and floor levelling.

Floor slant can happen with the INDEX!!!!! I am currently dealing with this issue on TWO COMPUTERS! IT WILL NOT GO AWAY NO MATTER WHAT I DO!! EVEN BOUGHT A NEW INDEX KIT AND IT IS STILL HAPPENING! Uninstalled all programs, steamvr leaves behind some sorta settings that leaves it all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

It is something wrong with STEAM BASE STATIONS!!! That has to be the issue.

I bought an index and for the index the sisue was solved by putting the headaet on the floor before starting steam vr. I now have a Varjo and after sucha. long time i am having the sma eflokr slant issue again...it only looks good looking in one direction and when i turn i suddenly lean :,) did you find any fix to your index issue maybe? :,)
