90hz problem WMR
I have begun with a very irritating problem.

Suddenly started to get the error message mid january "device can't start at 90hz". I changed the settings to "let windows decide". All worked fine at 60hz.

Contacted HP tech support. They couldn't figure out the problem, so they sent me a replacement headset. That one arrived this morning, and it does the same thing.

It runs fine at 60hz (albeit with a mild flicker). But I want more FPS. Can anyone help with ideas?

My system:
Win 10
HP Reverb G2
3090
10900k
64gb ram

Anybody?
First of all I don't have the problem but I will try to help you.

1. What is the name of the monitor and does it have G-Sync support?
2.I would like to know whether you have selected 90Hz in the "Nivdia Control Panel" if it is not already selected.
3. Have you already tested another DP connection on the graphics card?
4. Update the graphics driver.

If it still doesn't work, you can ask Nvidea support.

1) Ah, it isn't the monitor it is my VR headset. It is the HP reverb G2.
2) You can only select the hz of your monitor in NVIDIA control panel. That isn't the issue, but my monitor runs at 60hz.
3) Yes, same problem.
4) Yes, same problem.
1. Ok thanks
2. The Hz setting also exists under Windows 10 under display then advanced display settings then you select your display e.g. 1 and adapter properties for screen 1 displays and under monitor you can then set the Hz number.

I'll show you in pictures but they are in a different language but the buttons are in the same place. :)

That only lets me change the Hz for my monitor. There is no option to change it for the headset there. Should there be?
normally all devices should be displayed there through which an image can be displayed ... I can't think of more than that, maybe that the problem is somewhere with Nvidia, but I can't say exactly 😞

But I like to write again if you come up with something that could be helpful 😊 I would also be interested in what the problem is because I have a similar system.

Thanks.
You are welcome

Hey and by the way, if Nvidia support can't help you then reset Windows 10 and then try again maybe it's a bug in Windows, because Windows 10 is known for causing more bugs than they dofix through uptates! 😐

Dude big respect for doing that. Thank you.
If anybody else has similar issue, the cause is often in two displays attached to the GPU. Two displays prevent HP Reverb G2 to run at 90Hz, so you must disconnect the second monitor, even if it's disabled in display properties.
