Almost 200 hours, still have not beaten game :D
As title, I keep running out of steam around core city, and restarting with new characters... I guess its good value for time! Anyone else have restartitis like me??

That would drive me nuts. I can't restart games like that.
Radiosity 29. dec. 2024 kl. 4:51
I was like that as well, mostly because I was still thinking this was basically Fallout meets Metro. When I actually learned of all the cosmic horror elements and other fun stuff I had to look forward to (especially in Expedition) I knuckled down and actually pushed through instead of messing about restarting again. Really glad I did.

edit: That's not to say I wasn't enjoying it at first, I absolutely was. Loved the atmosphere and the general feeling around SGS, and that + messing with different builds is why my first 50-60 hours never saw me get further than the initial trip to Core City.

Also, question: Are you beelining right for Core City after the drill parts quest? Because while you 'can' do that (and should so that you can meet up with Abram and start Jack's next series of quests), it's a really good idea to hit up Rail Crossing and Foundry first, or at least shortly after visiting Core City the first time.

In Rail Crossing, go to the bar and do the Dude's quest ASAP, it opens up a nifty fast travel system and is just a fun ol' time. It's pretty easy to do by the time you're closing in on level 12+, especially on normal or easy difficulty :)

I was the same, played it first on GOG, for a few 100+ hours. Creating and re-creating characters, testing builds, testing branchs, etc.
On steam, already finished the game 3-4 times, and still playing it sometimes.
An amazing game, wish we had one more DLC just like Expedition.

I have did it a few times for build's sake

I still havent finished my one and only playthrough, that started who knows how many years ago. :steambored: First got sidetracked by the DLC, then got to the last map (Tschort I think?) and infinite enemies kinda killed all the interest to continue... But I still plan to finish it one day :rshocked:

Try now with the Heavy Duty using Big guns, its pretty easy to slash every damn tchortist in the way with a ♥♥♥ minigun :monstertrainyay:

Infinite enemies would indicate indyxt was talking about Deep Caverns. Which still don't present too much of a problem when you have a high-tier LMG, only issue is potentially running out of ammo, with how thirsty those things are.

Nice, yea I think thats part of the problem when the map opens up there is so much exploring and side areas to poke around in, it makes it VERY replayable to keep building new characters.

I will try and make an effort to finish the game someday, just have to decide which build to do it with!

You dont need to face a single tchortling in deep caverns if you make good use of safe areas and dont let the debuff stack to 20.

Highly recommend including Psychokinesis for a build like that, if you're not already planning it :)

Check out any and all stores you might've sold it to. When a unique item either appears in a vendor's stock (for random spawn items like the Cyclop's Eye), or you've sold a unique to them, in both cases the item will stay permanently in their inventory, regardless of how many vendor refreshes they go through. So as long as you didn't actually drop the knife somewhere, it should still exist.
