isn't the ending kinda a berserk reference?
He says something like "I'll go wander the island, and try to find a purpose for my life". Tell me if I'm overthinking. Seems Gutsy to me.

Natural choice for someone who lost everything and lives just for vengeance. With vengeance is done he needs to find new reason. As I know there is nothing common with berserks.
