Tap Crouch while moving in any direction to roll.

Holding Crouch while still will only make you crouch.
Holding Crouch while moving will make you roll, and then will put you in crouching position

To roll repeatedly you have to keep tapping Crouch while moving

This is what I'm doing. If I tap it it starts to crouch even when moving. I can only roll while mid air

You cant crouch while moving unless you stop moving for a split second. You must continuously run and hit shift to roll.

Well then it's broken

You could try wiping out the config file: https://wiki.wolfire.com/index.php/Configuring_Overgrowth

If that doesn't help, you might want to double check that you don't have a secondary controller interfering, a program running in the background that is somehow hijacking the keypress, and that the shift key or capslock or control isn't just stuck down

i cant roll either except when i jump but i cant dodge roll i just crouch when i press ctrl

and how do i disable this

Make sure that if you re-bound roll from l-shift to l-ctrl that you re-bind walk from l-ctrl to l-shift. That's what broke mine
