What’s your favorite weapon setup for surviving the zombie waves? Any underrated weapons or strategies you'd recommend?
In Last Hope Bunker: Zombie Survival, managing weapons is critical for survival, especially when facing endless zombie waves. The problem is that some weapons seem powerful at first but aren’t effective in certain situations, like dealing with large hordes or fast-moving zombies. Ammo conservation is another issue—running out of bullets in the middle of a fight can be fatal. That’s why I’m curious to know what weapon setups other players use and if there are any underrated weapons or strategies that I might be overlooking. It could make a huge difference in surviving longer and handling tougher encounters!

My favorite weapon setup is a combination of a shotgun and a melee weapon. The shotgun is perfect for clearing out groups of zombies up close, especially in tight spaces, while the melee weapon helps conserve ammo when dealing with single targets. As for underrated weapons, I’d say the crossbow is amazing—it’s silent, powerful, and you can often retrieve your bolts, which helps a ton with resource management. My strategy is to always keep a balance between ranged and melee options, so I’m prepared for both long-range threats and close encounters!
Hey DinNoch! That setup sounds solid—I’m all about balancing ranged and melee too. The crossbow tip is awesome; I didn’t even think about how resource-friendly it could be. Personally, I like pairing an SMG with a heavy melee weapon. The SMG is great for dealing with fast-moving zombies or thinning out a horde from a distance, and a sledgehammer or axe is my go-to for close combat—it’s slow, but it hits like a truck! Do you usually stick with the shotgun/crossbow combo, or do you switch things up based on the wave type?

Hi Veniaminikon! Thanks for sharing your setup—that SMG and heavy melee combo sounds like a beast for crowd control and keeping the zombies at bay. I’ve tried SMGs before, but I always seem to burn through ammo too fast. How do you manage that?

I usually stick with the shotgun and crossbow, but I’ll switch things up if the wave types change. For example, I might swap the crossbow for a rifle when dealing with armored zombies or pick a faster melee weapon like a machete if I’m up against smaller, quicker enemies.

Your sledgehammer idea is giving me some inspiration though—might have to try that for the next horde! Do you find it tricky to land those heavy swings in tight spaces?

Hey DinNoch and Veniaminikon, loving the discussion here! I’ve been playing Last Hope Bunker for a while, and I’ve found that weapon choice really depends on your playstyle and how you manage resources.

Personally, I like pairing a reliable mid-range weapon, like the assault rifle, with a machete. The rifle gives me enough versatility for crowds and mid-distance threats, while the machete is perfect for quick, precise swings when ammo runs low.

To conserve ammo, I try to kite zombies into chokepoints to maximize every shot or rely more on melee weapons. Traps or environmental hazards (when available) are also super useful—they save ammo and buy you some breathing room.

I’ve tried the crossbow too, and I have to agree—it’s a game-changer for silent kills and reclaimable ammo. Do you guys use grenades or other explosives? I find them amazing for armored zombies or when hordes get overwhelming. Would love to hear how you handle those tough situations!
