I usually stick with the shotgun and crossbow, but I’ll switch things up if the wave types change. For example, I might swap the crossbow for a rifle when dealing with armored zombies or pick a faster melee weapon like a machete if I’m up against smaller, quicker enemies.
Your sledgehammer idea is giving me some inspiration though—might have to try that for the next horde! Do you find it tricky to land those heavy swings in tight spaces?
Personally, I like pairing a reliable mid-range weapon, like the assault rifle, with a machete. The rifle gives me enough versatility for crowds and mid-distance threats, while the machete is perfect for quick, precise swings when ammo runs low.
To conserve ammo, I try to kite zombies into chokepoints to maximize every shot or rely more on melee weapons. Traps or environmental hazards (when available) are also super useful—they save ammo and buy you some breathing room.
I’ve tried the crossbow too, and I have to agree—it’s a game-changer for silent kills and reclaimable ammo. Do you guys use grenades or other explosives? I find them amazing for armored zombies or when hordes get overwhelming. Would love to hear how you handle those tough situations!
