Greetings My Soundest of Dodgers,

It's been a short 7 years (yikes), but I come bearing news and updates for your favorite mouse-based sound-dodging bullet extravaganza, and I'm not talking about Soundodger 2. I put together a short and sweet trailer, for the first time in 60fps and in 1440p! A bit excessive for an old Flash game, but I think it was worth it:

The rumors are true; Soundodger+ is now under new ownership - Studio Bean! That's right, we are now the sole developer and publisher for all Studio Bean games on Steam (...and technically itch[onemrbean.itch.io]). The circumstances under which this all happened are well-documented elsewhere, and for legal reasons I'm not at liberty to mention the name of the former publisher, but I assure you the unmarked van across the street packed with lawyers is in no way using binoculars to watch me type this out.

Before we get to the good stuff, I wanted to softly remind you that in the time since last update, an entirely new sequel to Soundodger+ has graced Steam, and it's available for you today! If you're reading this, you likely don't need any more info than that to be excited (and let's be honest, you might already own the game already - thanks!), so I'll just let this embedded widget lead you on your path:

With the celebration of becoming the publisher for Soundodger+, I felt it was an excellent opportunity to make a long-awaited update to the game! There's a 10-year-long history with this game I certainly didn't want to tamper with, so the update is made up of smaller stuff that bothered me that I really felt needed to be addressed, rather than fixing bugs players rely on for their levels to work. Most importantly, the Options Menu has been revamped and is now available from anywhere in the game - Title Screen, Level Select, Pause Menu, and In Editor. You might recognize the new sound effects from another game, but don't worry about that.

It was certainly a challenge to wade through my uncommented code from 11 years ago to make this update happen, but I'm happy to give a little back as thanks for being such an amazing community over the last decade, which reminds me! It's been a long time, but for some reason the community hasn't stopped making levels! For that reason alone, we've gone ahead and made a huge update to Soundodger, just for the fans. We even had fans help put together the latest DLC pack, s3! Aside from that, we've introduced a new Hug bullet as well as the dreaded 3D Mode. Full list of stuff below!

Major Additions:
- new "hug bullet" type. Requires the player to touch it before it leaves the arena (featured extensively in DLC)
- new DLC pack "s3", containing 19 new levels, over an hour of content (1hr 17min)
- new unlockable 3D Mode, allowing you to play a "3D" version of any level (main game or user levels). Unlocks after you've played every level from the main game.
- folder support for user levels

Changes:
- controller search toggle now saved between sessions
- adjusted difficulty rating on various levels
- tweaked choreography on some levels
- moved DLC files into DLC folder
- changed "back" button at song selection to read "main menu"
- added hearts & hugs page to help screen
- Editor: added staggered loading for larger levels
- Editor: ability to use decimal values for spinrate & timewarp markers (in XML)
- Editor: added bullet marker heads for bullet types
- Editor: added bullet marker colors for bullet patterns
- Editor: added hug and heart bullets to info panel and filters
- Editor: added special marker head for error bullets
- Editor: added ability to nudge selected markers via +/-
- Editor: added support to display up to 30 enemies in info panel
- Editor: added ability to take clean screenshot of game preview
- Editor: updated hotkey cheatsheet

Fixes:
- fixed white text not visible during level select
- fixed Adult Swim button on Title Screen to reflect new URL
- fixed white score text visibility
- fixed slow bullets disappearing in 60fps mode
- fixed spelling on cheat code
- fixed error when trying to scroll past a song with no mp3
- fixed enemies not disappearing at end of level
- Editor: prevented pasting copied bullets into timewarp/spinrate
- Editor: fixed mouse visibility when exiting in fullscreen preview
- Editor: fixed bullet markers collapsing on each other when dragging quickly
- Editor: fixed spinrate markers being unselectable when underneath timewarp markers

A small update went out tonight! The changes allow creators more freedom in personalizing their levels.

Changelog for Soundodger+:
- In Editor: Ctrl+H to convert selected bullet markers to Heart bullets
- In Editor: Ctrl+P to set a custom audio preview for the Song Selection screen
- In XML: you can now set "difficulty" to any value from 1 to 100
- In XML: you can add a custom "subtitle" to display under the artist name

We've updated Soundodger+ with feature tweaks/bug fixes and six new songs for your Soundodging enjoyment. Full changelog:

Changelog for Soundodger+:

- added X (exit) button on title screen in all windowed/fullscreen modes. It's available from the Title Screen and can be accessed using the mouse, keyboard, or controller.
- added Controller Search toggle. Press C at the Title Screen to switch it on/off (always on by default when launching). If you're not using a controller, toggling Controller Search off may help improve performance / responsiveness.
- fixed double confirmation windows appearing when trying to exit Editor with a freshly-saved file
- fixed incorrect windowed state upon relaunching (when previously fullscreen)
- minor stability fixes

Changelog for Soundodger+ Soundtrack DLC:
- added XML files for all original Soundodger+ levels
- added readme.txt for instructions on how to use XMLs in the Editor
About the new free DLC update:
- Includes 6 new artists and tracks, totaling over 20 minutes of new content
