Black Screen on Start, Game will not Load

My game will not even start up. Bought it and when I run it I just get a black screen about 800x600 size and the mouse turns into a white circle clock looking thing. Cant close the window normally have to go to task manager and kill the proc.

Are you using more than one monitor? I found I got around that by turning off the one monitor, running the game, changing the graphics, quitting the game, re-enabling the other monitor and from there it would work normally. YMMV

Yep that did it. Changed output to a single monitor and came right up. TYVM.

I'm having the exact same problem. No multiple monitors, just one. Here are my stats. If you need my DxDiag stats, let me know.

Request a refund. I finally got the game going only to find out that it was barely half finished. Still had a ton of bugs, and the devs abandoned it (last update was in 2014). Use your money to go buy the remake of Masters of Orion, or stellaris, both of which have way better community support, are stable and fun.

If I paid full price, I'd do that. Got it on sale for about $5. I just wish that Steam would d/c games that are dysfunctional and no longer supported.
