As hoped probably someone with a new name more buyers to find a pretty mediocre 4 X game so far :-)

While it sounds cool, "Black Sun" is also used as a Neo-Nazi symbol due to it's nordic heritage and because the swastika must not be used in Germany and the symbol has similarities.
So unfortunately there is a possibility to be interpreted as "Lords of the Neonazis"

Whether you care about it or not is up to you of course. Just don't be surprised when something like this comes up.

Sounds more like a Scandinavian black metal band than a 4x space game.

Needs more horrific space monsters and black suns to fit the name.

Black Sun chapter, totally old school WH40k chapter, but like Kordanor said certain symbols in a game will limit your European sales. As far as name change goes, that's a silly name i guess it was done to set the game apart from Star Ruler, Star Command, Star Drive, etc. (personally I'm not sure what a (a black sun is a black hole, right?) Lord of a black hole should be and not sure if I want to be one. needs exposistion.

Me, I think Star Lords is a nice game, and would make a good platform for a Star Trek mod.

This will definitely cut in profits. The new name is quite a mouth full. The change is quite confusing.

Ha, just saw this in my steam library and just thought it was another of those free games that Steam pushes to all accounts every now and then. Going to have to try it out again.

WAIT, WHAT? EFS was like my favorite game of all time, i did alot of modding with that game... and the "lords" part of the name change hit me, and i kept thinking about maybe doing a "Great Houses of the LAANSRAAD" mod instead of a Star Trek mod, now maybe I wont have to.

Good question about tactical battle only in space, a big strenght of Emperor of the Fading Suns was the 26-27 different planets and the rich feudal-type pan-galactic society. Is Warhameron right that game will be similar to EFS, or is wishful thinking?

While we obviously won't change the name again and we understand that it might not be up to everyone's tastes, we are happy to hear what you think about it :)
Kordanor: Thanks for the heads up ! We did our research before settling the new name and we are confident the black sun reference shouldn't pose any issues unless we referred to the black sun as a symbol, and added one or more neonazi references.
The black sun refers to a specific star system in the game that will play a very important role in the story events. More on that later ;)
