Hey there! It took us a bit longer than expected, but it’s finally here. Full gamepad support and a toggleable auto-aim feature, so you can (almost) play with one hand... 😏

• Controller Support: To all of you who can’t stand mice and keyboards, rejoice! We’ve tested the game on the most popular gamepads, but if you’re using some obscure North Korean controller from 1998 and things aren’t working quite right, drop us a line on Steam Discussions or Discord, and we’ll sort it out.
  

  P.S. Full controller support for the settings menu is coming soon. Sorry about that!

• Auto-Aim: You spoke, we listened! Many of you aren’t fans of manual aiming, so we’ve added a toggleable auto-aim. Now, you can press ‘Q’ to have aimable weapons automatically target the nearest enemy. While we love the tactical edge of manual aiming, we want to keep everyone happy! We’ll keep improving it as we go.
  
  
  Bug Fixes & Tweaks:
  
  
• That sneaky Invisible Wall Bug? Gone (well, 99.9% sure it's gone). No more running into thin air!
  
• Steam Deck UI fixes to keep things running smooth on the go. We’re always working on making it better!
  
• Tum & Erk Boss Fight: Their turrets were stuck in time, but we gave ‘em a good kick, and they’re back in action with proper animations.
  
• Some minor VFX tweaks to make things look even better.
  
• And of course, we hit up some balance changes for weapons and bosses to keep things spicy.

What’s Next?

We’re working on making hero ultimates more fun to use, adding more weapons, localizing the game into multiple languages, and, of course, more bug fixes and balance updates to keep things running smoothly!

🎮 Dive into the chaos, unlock epic upgrades, and show those baddies who’s boss. Whether you're a veteran rogue-lite player or just getting into the reverse bullet hell madness, Defenders of the Omniverse has something for everyone.

Hi, guys! It’s been five days since the game was released into Early Access, the time has come for the first patch, and here are the notes for Patch 0.1.1:

The Big Boys:

• Saving System. You can now quit the game without losing your progress. You have to be on the map to do this, exiting during the battle will cancel your run. When a run save is active, the Power Up menu is locked.
  
• Blaster, Plasma Gun and Nano-Spiders VFX update. We weren’t happy with how these weapons looked, so we gave the Blaster and Plasma Gun new, sexier projectiles. The Nano-Spiders are now blue, to avoid confusion with Talyn the Starboy’s weapon and ultimate, as their colors were too similar.
  
• New Mechanic for “Destroy the Statues” area. Previously, you could ignore the statues and farm experience there. These areas are now on a timer that activates if you dawdle too long. Once the timer reaches zero, a horde of super-fast super-strong enemies will arrive and murderize the heck out of you. No dilly-dallying!
  
• Enemy Speed. We felt the enemies were a bit sluggish, so we gave them some energy drinks.
  
• Sasha’s Speed. Sasha finally tied her shoelaces, and now her base movement speed is faster.
  
• Nerfed Fixed Starboy’s Ultimate. It now does damage every 0.5 seconds as intended, instead of dealing damage every frame and shredding bosses like cabbage.

The Small Fixes:

• Boss Chests now heal you when picked up.
  
• Fixed some bugs that prevented you from getting certain achievements.
  
• Deadly Purple Fog is now visible on the minimap.
  
• Red vignette added to let you know when you take damage.
  
• Fixed UI scaling on the 16:10 monitors.
  
• Fixed weapon and item descriptions: percentages vs flat numbers.
  
• Evermaple Leaf (HP regen) is more powerful now.
  
• Weapon balancing for: Omega Deck, Thunder Sword
  
• Fixed occasional bugs with Bigus Clawus attacks.
  
• Various visual & gameplay improvements for Tum & Erk boss fight.
  
• Various minor VFX fixes.

Hey, everyone! The big day is finally here – release day! 🎉

It’s been a wild ride since we dropped our demo last year, and Defenders of the Omniverse has come a long way. We’re beyond excited for you to jump in and see all the changes. As a small team, we decided to go the Early Access route so we can keep improving the game with your feedback. Here’s what you can dive into right now:

• Five Unique Heroes: Each hero brings their own flavor to the game with a special starting weapon, a killer ultimate ability, and unique passive perks. We didn’t want to just slap different skins on the same character – each hero feels like a totally different experience.
  
  
• 8 Weapons: On top of the heroes’ starting gear, we’ve got eight more weapons that any hero can pick up and use. From bouncing slime grenades to massive magma hammers and a plasma shotgun, there's something for every playstyle.
  
  
• Cyborc Wasteland Map: Our first battlefield is ready for you! Explore a post-apocalyptic world crawling with cybernetic mutant orcs, complete with three distinct biomes to smash through.
  
  
• 18 Enemy Types: Get ready to face hordes of enemies, from orcs and goblins to all sorts of mutant beasts. They’ll be coming at you in waves, so gear up!
  
  
• 6 Mini Bosses: These guys aren't just bigger – they’ve got their own tricks up their sleeves. Each mini boss brings unique mechanics that’ll keep you on your toes.
  
  
• 3 Epic Big Bosses: Each map biome ends with a showdown against a major boss that’s just itching to end your run. Beat them to move on to the next challenge!
  
  
• Dark Wizard Umbros: After you take down all the Big Bosses, you’ll face off against the main villain himself. Dark Wizard Umbros is the final test of your skills – are you up for the challenge?

Babushka Entertainment here, and today we’re thrilled to give you an inside look at the battlefields you’ll be conquering in Defenders of the Omniverse. For our Early Access release, you'll be starting your journey on the Cyborc Wasteland, a planet devastated by nuclear armageddon and inhabited by tribes of savage, mutated orcs with crude cybernetic augmentations. The Cyborc Wasteland is divided into three distinct biomes: The Wasteland, The Slaughterfields, and The Swamp.

Picture vast dunes bleached by an unforgiving sun and barren rocks stretching as far as the eye can see. This desolate landscape is the result of an ancient nuclear war that obliterated civilization and gave rise to the brutal cyborcs. Here, deformed beasts and bloodthirsty orcs roam freely. There are whispers of a towering monstrosity stalking the desert’s edges, perpetually hungry for fresh meat...

Welcome to the dark lands where a great war ended in utter devastation centuries ago. The landscape is dotted with rusted remnants of battle machines, old and new, and the ground crunches underfoot, littered with countless bones. Before the Dark Wizard Umbros united the orc tribes, they congregated here to wage endless war, driven by an insatiable thirst for bloodshed. At the heart of the Slaughterfields lies the Great Arena, awaiting mighty champions ready to challenge the strongest orc to ever live.

On Cyborc, water is a precious and scarce resource. Clean water is non-existent; even before the planet was engulfed in nuclear fire, ancient orc industries had already polluted the rivers, lakes, seas, and oceans. Now, centuries after the atomic apocalypse, the most common liquid is the glowing green sludge seeping from time-worn pipes. Most living beings perish upon contact with it or by inhaling its fumes, but those that survive are grotesquely mutated by radiation. They say everything strives to evolve into crabs - come and see if that holds true here...

Once Defenders of the Omniverse is in Early Access, we’ll spend time analyzing your feedback and squashing the inevitable bugs that arise as you dive into the game. After that, we’ll set our sights on the next planet, featuring entirely new environments, enemies, and vibes. To hint at what’s coming next, think “space” and “Vikings.” 😉
