Lovely game if you like getting hopelessly lost and finding random new areas. (I meant that in a good way, please don't get mad at me, I was complimenting the game.)

This game FAR exceeded my expectations. (gameplay and performance review)

Gameplay: It's easy to write this game off as just another backrooms copy and paste game due to the mass of content that has been milked from the concept of liminal spaces. However, this game is not packed with creatures constantly trying to kill you, in fact, there aren't any at all. Don't get me wrong, it can still be terrifying at a lot of times, but there is nothing taking away from the backrooms experience of exploration that was taken by the "lore" and monsters in almost every other backrooms game. This game is about exploration, not survival. And there is a lot to explore. This review is written after completing (there is still so much more to explore) the first level presented to you out of the 3 currently available, the dreampools.

I ended up changing the visual effects from the stock VHS grain to the CRT setting as I found the effect it gave annoying. The CRT is, I believe, the best way to experience the game.

Performance: I wasn't expecting the game to run very well on my computer (2080 super, 11700f) due to the required ray tracing. The game not only looks incredible, with ray traced details and beautiful scenery, but also performed perfectly reasonably for what it is. I maintained +100fps in epic settings at 1440p (TAA, I experienced a lot of flickering in FXAA) which is much better than I was expecting. I would recommend going into the settings and changing the frame rate limit up from 60fps for a much smoother experience. The game looks incredible and runs pretty well for (I'd imagine) any ray tracing capable GPU, especially in the crap storm that is UE5.

I would absolutely recommend this game.
