I have a theory that if you save and restart while the chimes are still going off, the bug happens and you never get the promised mino onslaught once you load the game. I should use my save file to check this back.
Kinda sad really because the level is somewhat easy without any minos. You end up stacking a lot of resources and the most interesting level turns out pretty bland after that bug
Okay. Did you test your theory or get rid of the bug in any way?
Well, I still had a lot of fun with the level. I still found it decently challenging. The majority of the game isn´t that hard for me, but it´s hard enough to still be fun. I felt like I accomplished something special when I beat the PS1 version as a teen, but I´d say anyone seriously trying and not giving up can beat it. Well, I´m still just past the Pit on the PC version. So I´m curious if this version of the game can still get me stuck.
I tried and YES, the map can bug once you save a few times and restart the game. I tried other run and waited the minos to be released before saving and the map worked as properly.
I had fun too figuring out stuff (managed to finish this map with rockets shooting) but it felt a bit flat in the last half, honestly. Had a bunch of stacked items waiting some minos that never showed up... I also did not deactivated the rocket trap so the game got a bit painful due to explosion area of damage trespassing other floors, lol
Oh, I´m constantly so stacked up on items that there are a lot in the levels I can´t pick up because of the limits. I never thought as a teen that I´d end up not needing most of my extra resources to progress. Now, even in the PC version using a keyboard.
Yeah, those rockets exploding can damage you even when you think you´re way out of their reach. I didn´t want to put up with it, because I play the game as cautiously as I can. It´s a deadly dungeon full of traps where the odds of survival are supposed to be stacked against me. I struggled quite a bit as a kid and teenager.
