What do you need cargo ships for if there's no reason to go to space? Was there a patch that happened at some point where there's a reason to go to space now beyond your first and very short trip to harvest materials from asteroids to finish your machines on the planet?

You start on a planet, you create everything on the planet except for a few rare resources you can only get from asteroids. You make a small ship to farm those materials... and never have to return to space again for any reason.... nor are you compelled to.

One of the things I've been the most confused about it being called "space engineers" when it should be called "Earth Engineers" or something similar, lol.

Not trying to troll, just genuinely curious if something drastic changed because I loved the game, just not the fact that hardly anything actually happened in space, much less any "engineering".

but he's right. At first there were no planets so it really was "Space Engineers" but once they added in planets, they nearly made Space completely obsolete. 95% of the game now happens on planets.

Umm... that's not where you start on dedicated servers. You start on a planet. You know, where the resources are. I think you're playing the "sandbox" version which isn't the game, it's just a building simulator.

YES please Keen you have a game with such great potential. Pls pls pls expand on the single player content, I would love more PvE content as long as it actually services the adventure aspect of the game.

Wait wait wait... That says VRage3, on a SE update. Not SE2? Does this mean we're getting the unified grid system without waiting for the sequel?!

keen might aswell be DJ Khaled, banging these updates out like "another one"

"more pve", you mean just new ships? that would be lame

A lot of the current PvE encounters(besides Prototech) all seem to be using internal turrets and gatling guns. Getting some updated encounters with the longer range weapons could be neat even though I like being able to cheese fights with some artillery.

The VRAGE3 logo at the end is just a part of our new newsletter video overlay (together with GoodAI)
It does not mean VRAGE3 will be used for Space Engineers.
As we stated several times in the past - our new VRAGE3 engine will be used for our upcoming games, not the current ones.
