Battery welding cannot be done with the welding tools of a construction drone.

It wasn't that it didn't work from the beginning.
At some point, it suddenly stopped working.
As you can see on the screen, the construction drone's inventory contains the necessary materials.
Why doesn't welding work all of a sudden?

Hi, I can control my Welder/Grinder ship using RC block with antennas and that is working very well so there is something wrong for sure,

That said, looks like you have modified the save files with Mods so I recommend to create a brand new world without any Mods and control a Welsder ship with RC to see if all good in a world where the save files never been modified.
= First Clue to find that is to know if it can be a Mod problem.

+
IF all good in the brand new created testing world, that means it is a Mod problem and you will have to test your Modded save in a copy.

Follow the steps we all do after a game update :

How to test a world or find broken conflicting Mods
1 - Select your save.
2 - Click the "Save as" button on the left.
3 - Change the save name to create a *copy.
4 - Add and Withdraw one Mod at a time in the copy.

5 - Report to the Mod author (on WS item page) when broken Mod found so he can fix/update his Mod, always very kind to let them know.

*copy
Never test with your original save, better create a copy and fix the original save when solution found in the copy, this way you will not mess up your save.
+
Never open original Modded saves after a game update.

IMPORTANT
-> Keep in mind removing Mods can do more damages to the save files and why it is very very important to test all Mods one at a time Before adding and removing Mods to our Favorite saves.

-> Some Mods delete and replace important codelines in the save file that are not added back in when removing the Mod.

Few things you can check:

- What components are not in the battery to be welded? (Which one does the welder struggle to put in the block?)
- Does your welders blocks have in their own inventory that component? or does it have enough space in their inventory to pull that component from another cargo container?
- Are the cargo containers connected with the large connection and not the small one? (Can the components goes in the welder inventory?)

Question, tho :

Have you disabled the advanced world setting named "Block limit" ?

Asking because the Welder block stop working at some point (when having a lot of grids in the world) when we play with "Block limit" enabled but all good when using the character hand welder.

To unlock the option named "Block limit" we must go enable "Experimental" mode first.

I thought it might be because of the block restriction, so I lifted the block restriction.
However, there is no change before or after lifting the block restriction.
There is no problem with welding other blocks, and it only does not weld the battery.
To be exact, it is not that it does not react to the battery itself, but it does not use the power cell in the inventory.
The conveyor connection is fine, but it is a situation where something that used to work well is not working.
So I am welding only the battery myself.

But......
I just tried welding a battery again with a construction drone and it worked. This is.....
It worked, then it didn't, then it worked again.....
I don't know the cause, but it's good that it worked again....

The conveyor system is well connected to the size of the joint.
All the necessary materials are in the inventory.
I stopped welding the battery because I didn't use only the power cell, but it suddenly worked.
I don't know why, but I'm glad it worked again.

Strange things happen when we modify the save files with Mods so that is a thing.

The best you can do is to save in front of the Bug and send that save for testing in a bug report on the Official SE1 Support Portal, they will tell you if it is a bug they will fix or not.

-> Click "Submit Bug" on the Support Portal to have a SE Programmer testing the bug for you and be able to chat with you.

https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc
(create "Bug report" or "Request help"(Private) or "Feedback"(Petition) on the Portal)
