Closing the maze completely?!

I've run across the situation where the next tile offered (corner) would have closed the maze completely. When i put it down though it was not the case, it put down another piece to force 1 opening. I assumed the game would not offer you impossible choices like this?!

now it happened in tournament in another setting. i had an opening which would only allow a straight road, but because i got a curved one a piece i already put down 2 turns ago changed by itself.

I had a situation where the next offered piece wouldn't fit my path. Two sides were empty space, one space was road, and the last was blocked. I was offered a crossroads, and that is not legal to place when one or more sides are blocked.
There was an explosion sound, and my maze path was deliberately altered so that I could place the new piece.
