My character always goes to the left and the steering wheel is also turned to the left, how to fix it

Just downloaded game. Hit start and the screen with the controls comes up. I click a bunch of buttons. Nothing happens. Can't advance. No button to push. What do I do?

1. So for one thing, hitting pause doesn't actually pause the game 2. The third time I died to the spider in chapter 3 (first time the spider appears) it disappeared from then on and would follow me (could hear it approach) but couldnt see it and it would not kill me 3. You can drive through the diner at the start 4. It would have been neat to be able to put on some radio, turn the cabin light on, etc....

That makes or breaks the game.
