maps i want to play on wont load in GEM editor

i select i map i want to play on and press ok and then it loads the map but then its just empty. can some one please help me

Sounds like you've opened up the editor and loaded up the map. The editor opens up in "F2" mode which is the mapping mode.
You also need to load the mission file. This is done by pressing "F3" to switch to the mission mode. Then you can load the mission file similar to how you loaded the map.
Units, vehicles and scripting are placed, saved, and loaded in "F3" mode.

so i will press f3 and load the map after already loading it?
