A nostalgic trip but filled with some PTSD. I grew up with the PS1 version so this is already an upgrade for me. Until recently I didn't even know that a dreamcast port existed. Not sure if that port had all those extras but for me it was a happy addition. For those who had only the PS1 version this is definitely glow up. That includes some new enemies throughout the levels and overall a much more smoothness to the game.

NEVERTHELESS
The definition of "remaster" is somewhat transparent as a term with this one. To be honest I was expecting some quality of life changes regarding the controls, the infamous platforming, a quicksave, or even a fully customisable controller layout. Unfortunately once you realize that it's basically an upscale of the dreamcast version with extra content, there's not much to talk about. All the levels are unlocked from the start as well as secret characters (including DarthMaul) whith additional unlockable enemies as playable characters along the way.
For 20$ it's a bit underwhelming but still a worthy addition to those who grew up with the PS1 Edition.

EDIT: 31/1/25 As of today it's been 4 days that the game refuses to play past the point of lvl6. The elevator at the end of the level causes the game to crash EVERY DAMN TIME. Making progress impossible, (sure ok you can bypass the level entirely, but what's the point?) I still want to complete the damn level in a game I paid for and try to get all achievements. Stay away until it's patched or the price is at least half off.

I think the remaster is great with the retouched graphics, all the characters being unlocked at the start, and the port being a direct transfer from the dreamcast version.

However, I cannot recommend this game for 2 big reasons:

1. Many of the glitches from the game still exist from way back when I played them as a kid.
2. **And most notably, level 6 Coruscant freezes whenever you get on the elevator which leads to part 2. If they patch this, I will modify my review, but as of now it's still an issue so I requested a refund.

I really love this game, but I have to warn people about this game breaking bug.

I don't remember Darth Maul fighting this good in the movie. Awesome remake for SW fans.
