First try to see if the issue happens other games if it does, then one of these issues is probably relevant to you.
1. My usb hub was bad. I tried a different port.
2. Usb connection was loose. Swapped ports.
3. The cable was too short putting tension on the usb plug causing it to wiggle around when my wheel made everything vibrate.
4. My light switch pops my speakers which also affects my wheel. I bought a line conditioner, but the cheap fix would be not to touch the light while using the wheel.
5. A driver issue. Once I opened the profiler the issue went away.
6. I had some programs in the background open causing all sorts of weird issues. Mostly too many tabs open on Firefox, LOL. Now closing that or only opening a private session for music.
7. My FF was at 100% simply dropping it to 80 or 90% helped.
8. The power connector to your power pack may be loose causing a partial connection.
9. My power pack was burning out. I got a new one. Considering how old your wheel is. I would assume that's a likely cause.
They stopped making the wheel well over a year ago. Nearly impossible to find them new. But power packs are pretty easy to find. Match the polarity and volts and amps and you should be good.
These are all for various games under various conditions, where I had to figure out a solution. I hope this helps you out in some way.
If you need parts Post an image of your power pack and I can post a link to a good psu to replace it.
Does this mean i can leave it plugged in via usb and just turn off the plug, or does it need to be fully disconnected each time? The location of the usbs at the back are a pain in the ass to reach.
Glad to hear it's all fixed, have fun!
