That is not the case, actually. There already had been news of the payment processor denying services to Japanese content sites with adult material since last year, 2024. Some of those site had to shut down.

You'll have to forgive me, they didn't enter my field of knowledge until now, too much hard news that I miss out on most of the internet drama. I knew they were nuts, just didn't read yet about how far reaching they are trying to be. But the weaponizing of payment processing is a shrewd and potentially effective strategy
