Abandoned?
I have this game in my whishlist, intersting discount but I don't see updates since 2017...

If you do get it, then I suggest you play WITHOUT mods at first. Wait until you get a feel for the game before even attempting to use mods.

The game was abandoned by Bohemia shortly after it came out. Critical bugs were never fixed, and it suffers from a lot of the same issues that Astroneer had it came out by which I mean that the more you end up building the worse the game performs. It doesn't take long into the early game before frame rates tank and I've never had a multiplayer game survive long enough to reach anywhere near the "end game". A single developer came back on their own time to try and fix things up, but eventually wasn't able to continue their work any longer.

It's a damned shame too. This game had a lot of potential.

2024 edit: Fixed a typo. This game is still dead. Would definitely come back to it if Bohemia ever updated it again.

The game is abandoned, but not unfinished. It has a lot of great content and very few bugs. I was also sitting on the fence a long time before I bought it. Have not regretted it one second.. This is one of the most beautiful games I own. However it is a game for patient players who appreciate the immersion. There is some grind, but the more rewarding once you get better stuff. A lot of extra value comes from the modding community making tools and scenarios. I agree with bladerunnner97 - try vanilla first to set your base line.
