What is the setting?
Specifically the Tartarus Engine. I love the rusted, dread filled setting. I love being so tiny, but working on a machine so LARGE that I cannot see the top or the bottom.

Is there a specific name for this type of setting? I'm trying to think of other games that are similar, and The Forever Winter has that same feeling of dread filled rusty industrialism around some of it's levels.

I just want more of this setting. Lorns Lore was similar, but I still don't know what this setting is called.

Don't know if there's an exact name for it but the first thought that came to mind was "Deep in the belly of the machine"

Reminded me of the chapters of Portal 2 when you're deep underground.

But more notably it reminded me of "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" a short story written by Harlan Ellison (later adapted into a video game in the 90s which is now on steam) in where the last five humans are being kept alive and tortured inside a massive sentient supercomputer by the name of AM.

If 90s point and click games aren't your style then I highly recommend giving the short story a read/listen.
