Don't change Display Driver from the game menu
I managed to brick my install completely by making that mistake. Tried to fix it via the CONFIG launcher, which didn't work, because it refused to give me any resolution options for any of the rendering methods.

you can unbrick it by rightclicking on the exe and putting it into xp compatibility mode. worked for me, hope it does for you too

worked there too.. in fact, it unlocked some higher resolutions too....
