Omikron - The Nomad Soul

Omikron - The Nomad Soul

Stuck at (and hated) the supermarket mission. Should I continue or quit?
Omikron was a game I really wanted to play back when it came out and just recently started the game. I was ready to forgive all its clunkiness but when I reached the supermarket mission, I realized there are some serious design flaws to Omikron (when it comes to shooting or fighting). I really love the setting and the overall atmosphere, but I totally hate the aforementioned mechanics which were made very amateurish even for its time.

My question is the following... I love the game as an "adventure", but can't really take the shooting/fighting parts. What I noticed was when I die at the supermarket (during the shooting or when fighting with the later "boss"), the game seems to continue. So if I just die and skip those parts and continue enjoying the game, will I be missing anything? Is there any penalty to that?

I appreciate any help/input!

you are supposed to "die" in that boos fight, dont worry about it and keep playing if you want :D also you can go to settings ad put difficulty on Easy, so both fighting and shooting is much easier

You have to commit seppuku, as it's the only way to transfer your consciousness to another body.
I know this thread is very old, but just wanted to say that you in fact CAN win ifght at supermarket.
I won that fight while playing when I was a child. You guys just sucks terribly.

Kinda true, but as I finished the game many times, this could ironically be hardest FPS part in the game, because later you can have maxed stats and repeat arena untill you have best weapon and nearly infinite ammo that melts everything instantly. Especially if you know the layouts of maps, like rooftops mission.

Game actually allows you to unlock fun stuff if you fail certain events (like demon fight on the roof, you get this cool thief girl as a reward for loosing). Or the medic chick you get if you get blasted by the bot at the gate without changing the body first. Changing bodies also allow you to fight in arena again if you win it by mistake (or on purpose). But you have to max stats again and get better at fighting.
