Anyone have any tips on reaching 5,000 points?

I read some reviews saying this is more arena like. I've never really liked arena shooters, id prefer a progression with secrets and episodes. Is there anything like that in this? The animations and combat look amazing, I just prefer a more traditional setup....

Seriously this is perfect mood music, I love this soundtrack, probably the best indy game soundtrack since pathologic.

Retro mode: Take the main campaign and give the player 3 lives. If the player loses a life the stage restarts from the beginning. If the player loses all 3 lives it's Game Over. Disable saves and the rewind feature for this mode. Next, implement a basic scoring system. Each item pick up is worth points, each treasure, each kill.
