Yes, I'm having the same issue too. I literally just bought the game the day before the update and now I can't play. I've tried so many different solutions with no success.

every ac4 update seems to break the game. the last 4 of em have and it takes a week to get fixed each time

Ubisoft: "If it ain't broke, we'll fix it"

The fix for that is to run the game in compatibility mode on Windows 8/7.

No problem.

Glad it wasn't just me. I've got a load of Ubisoft games, and had spent the time getting them working optimizing them. Then when I noticed they were all getting the same update, I checked out AC4BF, only to find it and some other games that were working, are now broke. I've got some fixed, and others not. I wasn't playing them right now, but it's frustrating that you've no choice but to accept updates that turn out to break games. I wish I could bill Ubisoft for the wasted time and electricity spent returning my games to working order. I hope the next social justice cause they promote is, dirty corporations using under handed buisness practices to shaft their customers through greed and incompetence. /RANT
