Theres also a mod on Nexus, but that's not the point. I'm fed up of game companies leaving it down to the community to fix game-breaking bugs.

Since you need Kenway's fleet to complete the treasure maps, this is something game-breaking that UbiSoft themselves should really be fixing - not the community.
And apparently, they are looking into it (source)[piunikaweb.com] , so fingers crossed... But remember it's UbiSoft, so don't hold your breath!
