Sunderfolk Update #4 - 1.4.1 Hotfix Notes

Hello Guardians!

We’ve been hard at work on fixing disconnection issues that have been affecting some Sunderfolk players, and we’re excited to have a fix for our Guardians.

Hotfix 1.4.1

Fixed an issue where some players would experience frequent disconnections between the Sunderfolk main screen and phone controller app.
- This particular issue was caused by some firewalls dropping a required server connection due to limited network activity over the connection. This disconnect would most likely have been experienced while playing remotely over the Internet. The game now handles this situation better.

Please note, this hotfix may not prevent every possible network disconnection issue, and we always appreciate your feedback and reports for finding and squashing bugs.

This game looks conceptually fun, but the interface is 100% a barrier to me even considering a purchase

I was playing the trial remote while my brother in another state hosted. There's some latency... maybe 100ms, but I don't really think that's even the problem as much as the fact that just trying to control a cursor over to a remote screen where you have to *click and drag on a touchscreen* is conceptually stupid. And I feel like it's really unnecessary because you all could have just made the client use HTML5 or something and designed around both both touch screen and mouse controls, and let us connect vi...

$50 for an experimental game is a bit high

I was willing to roll the dice on this (pun intended) at about $30; however, $50 is too lofty of an entry point. For a game that the makers themselves admit is a very different/experimental approach to "board games", $50 is a big ask. A demo would go a long way in helping to convince me (and others) to invest in the game. I'll leave it on my Wishlist, but that's generally the place where games I'm interested in go to die until there's a deep discount....

Hey Guardians!

You’ve spoken, and we’ve heard! We’ve been collecting your feedback and seeing where Sunderfolk shines and where it needs polish.

This latest patch focuses on some popular community requests, as well as an expressive new feature.😁

What’s New / Priority Fixes in Sunderfolk

Now introducing: Emotes

Players can now use Sunderfolk emotes with customizable text during combat and in-town.

Just click the Smile icon and go nuts! This will appear in town and during missions!

Renameable Player Prompts
- Were you too much of a loremaster [www.penny-arcade.com]and now you have to show your campaign to your family? We’ve got your back! Players can now rename the in-game prompts through the Shared Settings menu.

Name/Rename Your Campaign

Players will now be able to name their campaign party as part of the Hero Select process, which will be used as the Save File name.
Players may change their party name later via the Shared Settings menu.
- For players already in existing campaigns, you can create a new name for your party through Settings -> Shared Settings -> Campaign Rename.

Adjusted Boss Difficulty for Challenging/Shadowstone

Boss monsters now receive a +1 damage buff like other monsters, instead of the unique +2 damage buff previously used.

Nerfed the Salad

The Tangleroot Salad has been adjusted to prevent excessive creation of Vines.
The flavor text description for Tangleroot Salad has been updated.

General Bugs & Issues Fixes

Encounters

Fixed an issue where the Ogre Queen would not take damage at the start of her turn if on a lava hex while Stunned.

Characters

Fixed an issue where Heroes will no longer gain an extra level when re-adding Heroes that had been previously dropped.
Adjusted the tooltip information for Berserker’s Rage ability to show the correct information.

Equipment

Fixed an issue where players that joined mid-campaign did not gain the appropriate Fate Cards from the hero level-up rewards.
Fate Card Adjustment: Executes with enemies under 5 HP now work with area-of-effect and Ranged attacks.
Donated Trinkets will now prioritize being pulled from the player’s inventory before their equipment slots when donating at the Bug Pens.
Fixed an issue where if multiple players attempted to donate Trinkets at the Bug Pens at the same time, only one user would be able to donate Trinkets.

NPC Conversations

Adjusted several incorrect NPC conversations in town.

New players who join an ongoing campaign will no longer be able to speak with Evelyn indefinitely.
Town upgrades are now accurately displayed in the Bug Pens menu when multiple upgrades are made in a row.
Fixed an issue where a conversation with Tuya would not disappear from the Tavern location and can be seen multiple times, locking out further conversations with other NPCs.
(This section contains story spoilers! Read at your own risk) Fixed an issue where conversations with the Rabbits after the Sundership Down quest failed to appear after completing it.

Worst of both worlds

if you want to make a mobile game make one, if you want to make a PC game make one but this is the worst of both. Its a mobile game that requires a PC and a PC game that requires a mobile device. Why on earth wouldn't you just make an option for either of the inputs instead of requiring a secondary install for everyone. I've played digital gloomhaven with friends on the TV and it worked fine with keyboard and mouse. This seems so awkward and silly to just not offer options. Good luck i guess....

Even the wife and kids want to play this with me. Narrator is very good. Everyone else is good enough. Light-hearted story, but interesting enough (don't expect a Witcher or Dragon Age epic). Good times.
