Is the game really worth the price?
Hi,

I wanna know the opinion of people who own the game.

Thanks already!

Thanks for the detailed and informative answer!

I mean, it depends on your economical situation. I have played 10 hours so far, which is around $3 per hour, that't OK for me if I'm having fun.

And well, I like the game, so I will likely play at least 20 hours more.

With that said, there are many things that can (and likely will, judging by the update roadmap) be added and improved, so it might be worth waiting as well.

Just found this in another thread.

This is an interesting info by Jon Shafer he gave on a fan/customer question about 1.0/ early access.

Which raises the question: Jon, how come you chose to go for a 1.0 release, rather than a `0.8 + Early Access`?

To be honest it's because I felt it was fun enough to be a v1.0. It's not as polished as it could be but no strategy game really is at 1.0, and I've had a ton of fun playing AtG. The testing team was small and the feedback I was receiving was generally (though obviously not universally) positive. As a developer you have to pull the trigger at some point. Everyone's bar for what is and is not complete is different of course, and if other people don't feel it's ready then I can respect that and won't begrudge them for requesting a refund or waiting to buy the game until later

It has nothing to do with my economical situation. I could easily buy several games like with this price tag. But I asked if it's worth the price. If I want to waste money I can simply burn it or throwing it out of my window.

Jfoytek is absolutely right. In the current state it's not worth it.
To put this price and the 1.0 on that game was not a smart business move.

I will check it in a few month again. Still looks promising.

i spent 10hrs on this on after my i bought it, seems like worth it, but it heats up my laptop easily when games like stellaris dont, can easily need some optimization and alot of bug fixes and UI update. there are still alot of factions to play.

overall looks promising, for now im holding on my thumbs up until they fix the issues

Yeah, it's a cool concept but it's really not there yet. Even if you get over lacking features like AI or diplomacy there are some real show stopping bugs right now.

Played 6 hours and can't wait to start playing. So far it is worth it for me.

well, i dont know what to say
27 euros for 175 mb, hmm......the game its good
but this its not your question, to be honest doesnt worth 30 euro.
9,99 was a fair price

1) Are you picturing a fairly action-packed series of barbarian battles?

2) Will it prevent you from enjoying the game to know that some features have not yet been implemented?

3) Does careful reflection over matching resources and clan traits and professions sound kind of boring to you, and not what you call a fun game?

4) Do you insist that the other tribes are there as quasi-human competitors, programmed to try to get there first?

If you answered yes to any of these four questions, then you will probably be unhappy that you bought the game.

I like it a lot, but I'm kind of tired of games where battles are the focus. And I think the future of strategy games is to create challenges not dependent on AI competitors supposedly playing the same game you are. And I love the puzzling out of clan roles that this game centers on. But tastes are going to vary.

I like to pay for an idea and the fun it gives rather then measuring it in the amount of mb's it provides .

I just got it and knew nothing about prior to 2 days ago. I like it for the fact that there are a variety of management variables that seem a bit unique or at least unusual. There are some balance issues, and the learning curve is a bit steep at the beginning (like any decent management game). Half of the challenge is just figuring out how to maximaze your resources based on the clans that join you. There is some depth, and I'm sure once a number of things are mastered it will become less challenging.

So far I'm a fan. But yeah, there are things that need to be addressed in updates.

it took three years for the mods to catch up with Civ 5 and make it finally fun to play. I had the cash, so i bought this to help the Dev. I haven't played it yet, but think maybe it might become something later on. I liked the idea of earning your tech through work. that doesn't actually seem to be how it goes though -- no wandering mechanics or engineers -- people who come to town to build stuff for you, and whom you can apprentice out workers who'd learn the craft. my bad. it's up to you and how smart you are: what you think history works like and what you think this game will allow that thought to actualize as your game.

I want to thank you all for your opinions! Interesting to read so many different opinions! Great discussion so far!

But I will wait a few month more to see how it will develops.

With the official roadmap on my mind, I am thinking I will buy it.

But only time will tell...

Cheers!

I wonder how many of those that are complaining about the price of this game purchase a new iPhone every time a new version is released.
