Really fun and pretty complex

One of my all time favorites. The low-fi, retro-futurism, alternate history cyberpunk world makes the perfect setting for the incredibly fun pseudo-programming and hacking game play. The story is simple and strangely hopeful. Quadrilateral Cowboy is an indie masterpiece.

I played through Quadrilateral Cowboy game back in 2016, and I came back to it because Skin Deep just dropped, but I think about it often. It's true that there's a lot of cool concepts that are introduced in each level, but then moves on a bit too quickly. But something about the aesthetic, the setting, the tactile sounds, the way story and character elements are very much "show, don't tell", I felt there was something really beautiful about the whole thing. The ending as well, it's so simple, yet it hit me like a ton of bricks, and every time I hear Clair de Lune I remember it. I guess it just reminded me of good times with my own heist crew when we were younger. Been a Brendon Chung fan ever since.
