Why do ai trains go atleast 25mph below the max speed limit?
So bassicly when i clicked an ai train in a scenario train i expected for it to be goign 100mph (as that was the speed limit) but when it took me to the cab gui thing it was going 70 so i checked with other trains and different speed limits and the same thing happens

there's a setting for objectives in AI trains labelled "Performance", it is usually set to 75% by default, meaning that the AI attempts to drive at 75% of the current speed limit its in

By default, trains are set to run at about 75% of line speed. This can be adjusted in the scenario editor.

Train speed is partly regulated by what is being pulled and the loco. For example, Class 390s can run at full line speed, whereas Class 150/1s are limited to 75 mph.
