I love ASA, but why do i have to re-download the WHOLE game for every update. Like seriously thats 115GB every update. I feel like this can be sorted and simplified so easily.

Game is dog**** now. Game was way better before they started adding they/them animals. Old prim Ark was the ♥♥♥♥ now a bunch of jobless fatties loaded with tek run every server

Even worse optimization than Survival Evolved, runs like truck wreck even on my brand new 4070 RTX computer on the lowest settings and INI adjustment. I can run Cyberpunk 2077 just fine, this is the only game that refuses to work properly, not to mention the pay to win and gatekeeping content is just an extra slap to the face

overall a fun experience.

I had about 10k hours in Ark Survival Evolved. Ark Survival Ascended is absolute garbage though. Huge cash grab from the shadiest Chinese company in gaming.

Snail Games shouldn't be allowed anywhere near Steam or any game for that matter ever.

Waited a long time to review this, purchased it very early on and optimisation was terrible, frequent crashes resulting in losing progress, one time i had all my tames fall through the map, just a terrible experience all round. Hoping the devs would of gotten it fixed months later but is not the case.
I wish i hadnt wasted my money on this.

This is one of the most un-optimized games I have ever played. Every update/patch requires you to reinstall/patch the entire 116 GBs, constant server crashes roll you back multiple hours so you have to complete everything you accomplished over that period again, and mesh issues (present since Ark S.E.) are a reoccurring issue that has made their way into the most important aspects of the game.

Just find an ascendent crossbow blueprint in a red drop? Server resets and you load back into the game having died from fall damage on the way to the drop.

Finally have good enough gear/tames to complete the ice cave? Game lags, you die, and your items (that took you hours to collect) are stuck underneath the map on your dead body and are unable to be retrieved.

For a "revamped" version of the original game, having been put on a newer engine with added dinos, it leaves a lot to be desired.
