Fun parkour, combat and great atmosphere. Story is not that interesting tho

I've been pretty burned out with gaming for awhile except for retro style games or stuff from the modding community and recently even that had my gaming well of desire to play completely run dry.

Enter Dying Light:

I'm just getting started with this game, will update my review later. I honestly thought for years and years Dying Light was a Left 4 Dead type game that neglected a high quality single player campaign. I feel Left 4 Dead really let me down so much that I kept overlooking this game due to the type of vibe it gave off.

It's a 2015 game, that right there is a fair indication that it's not like the modern dumpster fires one comes across these days. A game I overlooked so many times it's not even funny, glad I'm trying it out now. Excellent meld of mechanics. The biggest thing that won me over to at least try it out is that its well regarded for it's single player campaign, it wasn't just designed for coop with single player as an afterthought. Tons of people highly rate single player for this.

I usually don't sink this much time into a game starting day one. This like most games is a very common rinse and repeat type affair but with a lot of good elements. I passed over this title so many times in the store it's uncountable. I thought well zombies! Yeah not that many great zombie games out there, they are few and far between. Very cliche premise but that didn't stop me from getting into it. Lots of exploration and crafting, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. For me a few words sum it up so far, engaging and enjoyable.
