Is there a way to reset achievements or contact steam support to reset achievements?
I played on a public lobby last night and a hacker joined my game and he messed with my game, thankfully he didn't change any of my stats or anything, but he did things that caused my achievements to be completed and I want to actually get those achievements in a legit manner, but I don't know how to get my achievements reseted. I already plan on deleting the character I own that the hacker had joined with, but I actually want to get the achievements myself. Please tell me how to reset them, please and thank you.

I think if you went into options, there's something about VAC.

Where? In Dying Light? Turning on/off VAC secure servers isn't going to reset his achievements. SAM is the only program that can do that.

SAM will heavily increase chances of getting banned
its pretty much notorious for vac bans when it comes to achievements

BS. I used it in games where certain achievements could not longer be achieved due to patches that broke them. And i'm just fine. Valve is aware of it, and they never claimed that it will lend to ban. There's literally no proof that using SAM could get you banned. On every forum.

if the game itself has precautions placed you could get a game ban, maybe even vac based on how the game works with vac
either way for op, use at your own risk

People have been using it on CS GO, or L4D, or even TF. I saw a guy with 0 hours in TF2, but with all the achievements. Not even a ban to this day.

I'm not aware of any reported VAC issues with SAM.

Certain games have given players grief for using it and been said to ban players from their forums and games, but you won't get VAC banned.

Steps:

1) Locate and Delete the Save Folder

- Navigate to the directory: steam/userdata/(yoursteamid)/239140.
- Delete the folder named 239140.
- Disable Steam Cloud Sync:

2) Open Steam

- Go to your library and right-click on Dying Light.
- Select Properties → General → Disable Steam Cloud for the game.

3) Start Fresh in the Game:

- Launch the game
- Create a new save and play until you kill the first infected.

The achievement for this should unlock (assuming you've reset achievements using SAM beforehand).

4) Re-enable Steam Cloud Sync

- Exit the game.
- Go back to Steam and re-enable Steam Cloud for Dying Light.

5) Handle the Cloud Save Conflict

- Steam will detect a conflict between local and cloud saves.
- Choose to overwrite the cloud save with the new local save.

6) Outcome

You’ll now have a clean save file without your old cloud saves.

Achievements will unlock as you progress through the game, just as if you were playing for the first time.

Hope this helps, and apologies for the late response! Hopefully, this guide will assist others in the future as well.
