I have known this on other games like Carmageddon, that has achievements that links to other games in the series but there is probably more.

Theres also some games that have achievements linked to playing it in early access which is strange because it means that once the game goes live retail the achievements that are promised are not achievable which kind of means false advertisment.

Steam isnt very good at achievements. You will feel like youre being screwed. Wether by DLC constantly being added, bugs or other methods developers use them to get you to spend more by using the achievement system against users.

This is just how it is. We all know the score though, so if you do 99% except that one we know why and we understand.

Sniper Elite series is pretty cool though so you probably should become a big fan and get them all when you can

Most folks who do Achievement Hunting or that have my amount of Achievements do it for the Profile Customisation from the Achievement Rewards. Whereas the two of you are super "Private" because someone made fun of ya somewhere along the line and you're broken now in some way. Even being a 100% Completion-ist would look terrible all locked-profile.

And cross-game achievements are nothing compared to cross-game unlocks that are unlocked with DLC from previous games like WarHammer 1, 2, 3. THAT can get very expensive and quickly.

Should work since achievements usually do not get removed.
