Settlements Rising is a fun game and I really do not understand what others critisize... Yeah, it is not innovative for this genre but has some new stuff Banished does not have such as Trader Ships (not only the Traders coming in, but own ships) and Explorer Ships. I really enjoy that and it keeps me busy.

The only thing I have to negatively state is that it is way to easy... Rarely, someone dies when it is freezing, the pest is affecting a lot but my population recovers pretty well.. Earth quakes are rather harmless as no building collapsed. Raiders are ridiculously stupid. I built a wall with defence towers, let them in, they raid me but I close all the gates. They try to escape but mostly, they are to slow to destruct my walls and I just wait until all my soldiers killed them one by one... It would be more of a challenge if they can come by boat and maybe take hostages or try to destruct buildings.

But, I spend a lot of time in this game as its fundamentals work very well and it is a start to getting great. The basics are there - just complement it with aspects some others mention here as improvement tracks.

I really miss bridges btw - and a little bit more music variety would be great. :)

So the more advanced levels offer a much more rewarding challenge.

Having said that, just to see, you can also 100% complete this in about eh...15ish hours? Probably less, I lost count honestly, but, yeah. Casual, maximize housing and market placement, bam! achievements done :D
