For the height, I suppose you can try to calibrate your height settings in steamvr, or the gzdoom vr's settings.
And yes, the game was designed for right handed controllers, gzdoomvr doesn't really allow for both hands so I would imagine left handed controllers would feel weird.
Sorry about your issues, if they prove much to bear, feel free to refund it, or simply just play the desktop/non-vr version
I see this VR version as an added bonus as I bought the non-VR version back in December, so the issues aren't too big of a deal to me. My intention for this post was a sort of bug report in the hopes that these could be fixed.
I understand if these issues are hard to fix, I'm actually quite surprised gzdoom allows for VR at all!
EDIT: Nevermind, X button is bound on the Index controllers for me now.
