October 10th, 2023: 796-798

I declared war on one of the Norwegian minors who was allied with Pomerania. I had tried to fight both earlier but failed to beat them. So I tag switched over to two of Pomerania's enemies and made them declare war on Pomerania. Months later I made their enemies declare war on them. The result was that I could go and defeat that Norwegian minor and conquer them, leaving two minors left to annex to take over all of Norway. One of the provinces also converted which is good.

P.S. Also made an alliance with Svealand, while weak they can either make a good distraction or will be the last man standing against my conquest of Scandinavia.

October 11th, 2023: 798-802?

I declared war on Denmark and wars on their two allies (Lithuania and Croatia.), Strathclyde was preparing to declare a war on me so I tag switched to them and declared war on Sussex, thus wrecking Strathclyde. After some back and forth I occupied all of Denmark and took half of Jutland and gave some land to Svealand. With Denmark out of the way there are a few minors near my borders that need to be taken care of.

October 14th, 2023 801-803

Having finished off Strathclyde I released Northumberland as a vassal and gave them the land. For whatever reason they started with -3 stability, low legitimacy and didn't even raise autonomy until I did it myself by tag switching. Meanwhile I declare a war on Pictland and full-annexed them (Gave their island to Northumberland though.). Also kept rebels at bay both in my land (With harsh treatment) and in Northumberland (With harsher treatment, that is my troops.). Also gave Wessex some land back from that Strathclyde breakaway that allied with the Picts.

October 15th, 2023 804-809

Mostly just waiting out the regency and rebels. Finally get a new High King and eventually go to war with Vestfold. Sweden (Who formed from Svealand) did the dirty work for me and sieged down the OPM. Converted all but two of the provinces in my Scandi holdings. Francia went to war with Saxony and have them nearly full-occupied. In the meanwhile my next targets are the Anglo-Saxon OPMs (For Wessex) or finishing off Denmark to open the gate into Russia.

October 21st, 2023 809-811 To preface, apologies for the wait, I haven't gotten around to playing EUIV until now.

Mostly kept rebels at bay, nobel rebs because I decreased anatomy in Ireland and nationalist in Scandinavia and my vassal (Whom I have finally gotten to 0 stability.). Declared war on the last Welsh minor and after getting a loan I took out a few more to get enough money to adopt Crop rotation. Meanwhile to the south Saxony lost most of their land to Francia who now desires my Jutland holdings. It is already set in motion that I must find a way to destroy Francia, the only question is when. I leave it up to the thread to decide what year in the next ten (That is, up to 821) to decide when Francia dies. Remember, for the safety of the Irish nation.

November 5th, 2023 811-819 Once again apologies for the wait, things have been a fair bit busy here.

Since no one told me the exact year I consulted the wheel which told me their doom would be in five years (Or so I thought.). Fought noble rebels which allowed me some time to do other things besides waiting for rebels. In that time I declared war on Denmark and split it up between myself and Sweden (Saxony too but they only took one province I didn't get to in time.). I took the Norwegian parts and Bornholm and left the rest to Sweden. To my dismay the last Norwegian minor is allied to Sweden which just makes my conquests all the more challenging.

As for Francia that will be postponed to the next game because the Abbasids are at war with Tibet. See my plan is to declare war on Francia as Cordoba who are allied with the Abbasids then later declare war as Byzantium to push the tide further against Francia. This is a foolproof plan that will only take some time to manifest now that the Abbasids are off in Tibet. For now I have to formulate my plan for taking out that last Norwegian minor and perhaps Sweden.

November 6th, 2023 819-822

After tag switching over to an Indian minor I declared war on Tibet to help the Abbasids. There after they finished their war and after two months I got down to business.

First I tag switched over to Lombardy and declared war on Byzantium then to Cordoba and declared war on Francia. Also had to fight even more noble rebels in the meantime and make claims to Pomerania.

So far the war between Francia and the entire Muslim world has been a bit of a stalemate. The Abbasids are only just getting back to their heartland and are dealing with rebels in India while Cordoba decided the best thing to do with their army was go over and occupy the North African minor that allied Francia. Meanwhile the north of their country is getting carpet sieged by Francia who don't seem to be stopping any time soon. I've declared another war on them with Bavaria but that will only buy the Muslims some time to crush Francia. If push comes to shove I may have to bankrupt Francia as the only means of giving the Muslims the edge they need.

Current plans for Ireland so far are to dev and conquer the Baltic and find some way to wrangle that Norwegian minor away from Sweden (Or perhaps even betray them.).

November 6th, 2023 Loose thread 1

After building my army up I decided to declare war on Sussex seeing that Francia was busy still fighting everyone. My allies made quick work of Sussex but it was all a vain attempt. In the meanwhile Cordoba made a peace deal with Francia and every, single, damn, time I checked the Abbacids they were using their 91K army to go fight rebels that were maybe 1/10th their size in Asia (This proving again how useless the AI is in this game.).

For now I will go find a backup save for the next game, I'm not going to fight a deathwar against Francia in the vain attempt to rack up their war exhaustion. Maybe I can just go to when I started that war and bankrupt them or even let them make claims to Sweden so I can betray them.

Let me know what I can do to tame this beast that is Francia.

Also current goals (-) or potential ideas (+), feel free to add any as we go on:
-Develop and have an actually stable, if not exceedingly good economic base.
-Rid this world of Francia and all their ilk.
-Conquer Scandinavia and Russia.

+Culture shift to Norwegian and become Norway (They get settlers which will allow me to colonize North America and or Russia before anyone else.).
+Taking a whole lot of loans and then going bankrupt (Last I checked going bankrupt clears all debt while keeping the money, not sure if that will work but I'll list this,),
+Play as another nation then culture shift to Irish and forming Ireland (Easier said than done as I have more than enough land to require more than one war to annex Ireland.).
+Play dirty and break Francia and other great powers up into weaker states (Similar to real life but I don't want to abuse my console powers anymore than I need too.).

November 18th 2023 819-825

I found the backup save which was made before I started the war between Francia and the Muslims and started anew there.

Initially I built up my army and then was called into a war by Wessex against Sussex. I feigned at first but after making a save I found the reason why was because Francia was in massive debt and thus did not want to help Sussex. There then I joined and we occupied all of Sussex.

Meanwhile back at home a 13K army of noble rebels spawned and in a surprise move Lindsay (One of Wessex's allies) ran over and helped me to destroy the rebel army (Take note of this being one of few times the AI is actually good to me.).

Wessex botched the peace deal and released another English minor in the two provinces that Northumbria has claims on and had occupied which tells me that we are going to have a falling out soon.

Aside from that I built my army up to 15K and am poised to conquer Pomerania and have accepted Norwegian to get some more money there. Also I read on the Extended Timeline wiki that Francia may break up around 840 so I'll keep the Muslims in my back pocket as an emergency measure to keep the Franks at bay.

November 19th 2023 825-830

I declared war on the last Norwegian minor and annexed them (Sweden wasn't willing to join a war.). In doing so I lost my alliance with Sweden which is fine because I plan on destroying them as well.

Now that my gateway into Russia is secure I declared war on the last Finnish minor and annexed them and Voita who has a really powerful fort that takes a 9K army to siege in the wintry north of Russia.

Also finally got caught up on my admin tech so now I can use my admin mana for stability and deving.

Trouble is brewing to the south as Francia has annexed Saxony and now borders me in Denmark. I plan on killing their allies in proxy wars so that the AI can actually fight them.

Ireland is getting out of the survival phase.

Just went and checked how much dev I'd have just from having all of Russia and Scandinavia and it is about 600-800 dev which would put me on par with Francia though nowhere near the same amount of soldiers. Still very powerful, I can see why in timelapses that Scandinavian nations just blob into Russia and get a massive lead over their competition.

November 30th 830-833

Didn't really do a whole lot besides fend off a Sami rebellion and convert all the Norwegians to Chalcedonian. Increased my stability to 1 for the first time as well. Currently I pose to declare war on Sweden. They have a bigger army (21K vs my 19K) but their generals are way worse than mine and they have no one to back them up. I'll build up what I can then declare war then northern Russia is next.

Still no sign of "King Conor"
