Really fun game, if you like adult jokes you'll like this game.

This game was a really silly and fun experience. It's not super long—I finished it within 2.5 hours—but it was absolutely worth the money for the variety of random things you can do and experience. The "secret" ending is pretty goofy, and I loved it. The humor is quirky and clever, with plenty of surprises that kept it fresh throughout. The art style and characters are charmingly unique, adding to the overall lighthearted vibe. It's the perfect game to relax with when you want something easygoing yet packed with personality. It’s a joyful little adventure that leaves you smiling!

Even at 3 hours, this "game" felt like a chore. Yes, it's nice to see some Northern representation, as someone who has pretty much lived in the area all my life, but it's barely a "game". You can do three things in this "game", move, jump and smack. While it's a pretty humourous game throughout, it kinda just stops being fun pretty quickly. This is definitely one of those "games" you want to just watch a Let's Play of because it really doesn't add any extra value of you playing it yourself vs watching someone else play through it.

Sure, the art style is great, it includes lots of neat little British references (but so does Pokemon Sword and Shield lmao) and it is generally fun, but the "game" itself has so much backtracking, you keep just going through the same areas, it's frustrating, the cast of characters are all bumbling idiots, and nothing really happens. I suppose it does represent the frustrating nature of British red tape and efficiency and some of the pointlessness of it all quite well, but as an experience it's not enjoyable. Compare this to the just recently released latest Wallace and Gromit, Vengance Most Fowl, which is fun throughout and is nowhere near as labourous and tedious as this. Also, at least with Untitled Goose Game they did much more with the game and its similar limited mechanics (honk, grab, move, IIRC) and that actually had enjoyable challenges, level design and achievements compared to this pile o' slop.

I guess shoutout to the pwopa Bri'ish English translations though. And the black and white autosave carousel.

I'm actually kind of short on words here. There's not that much to say: The game is a prolonged humourjoke about northern English culture. The game is a fairly linear series of events where you "resolve" people's "problems", with a sense of humour that's sometimes pretty juvenile and a little out there. This is broken up, for me, by long stints of slapping everything. EVERYTHING. I gave out so many slaps. I slapped pigeons, sacks of trash, doors, cars, and spent way too long slapping the burger out of some guy's mouth. I went back to the chippie to slap the "eating for two" customer because those cries made me laugh. I couldn't tell you why.

If you like the sort of English comedy that leans on the wackier side, you'll be fine. Me? Can't complain. There was a joke about ludonarratives that I thought was brilliant and it was nothing but a little background note. Anyway! Humour is subjective, and if you don't like this, you can still be my friend. Vive la différence. (I did consider playing it in French for the cognitive dissonance.)

My time, as of this review is one playthrough at three hours. I missed a few things here and there, judging by achievements, and that's okay. I wasn't as thorough as I might have been. Judging a game by its dollar to time ratio gets you spending 400 hours picking up dinosaur ♥♥♥♥, as I've said several times now. Is going back to 100% it really worthwhile? I'm not wired that way.

Anyway, all that rambling blather said, while people are getting het up by whatever bland offerings the major producers are cranking out, or whatever NFT nonsense another company is doing, this is just a simple, straight-forward, completely hand-drawn, human-voiced affair. It's indie AF. I should have played it sooner. It's a breath of fresh air. We need more strangeness, more novel experiences, and I've been quite satisfied.

I've just started playing this game, but the amount of creativity and humor in this game is great. You have to like the style of humor though, but if you do like it you're in for a good set of laughs. I'm having a couple of good ones at least.

As a southerner, this northern humour is hilarious. Short, silly, slapstick.

Funny game that doesnt get old during the time youre playing. It is constantly introducing new jokes. Overall a fun experience. Keep in mind that the game is relatively short. 2.6 hours and I completed all the achievements too.
While the length doesnt bother me as much, I can understand if some people look at the price and might find it a bit to expensive.

Anyway, I recommend it for the jokes, artstyle and music. British people are finally funny again.

This game was purpose-built to fit my sense of humour.

It's only a short game but it had me laughing the whole way through. Amazing art, animations and writing, well worth the money for the quality you get despite the short length.
