Keyboard controls are extremely abysmal
And here's why.
Who is their right mind designed this keyboard+mouse layout? I'll agree that some inputs are great and are a huge improvement from Dark Souls. But why the hell is my LEFT MOUSE binded to my LEFT WEAPON. Even if I want to fully customize my keybinds, there will be something that will interfere with me doing so. I need to say, this ♥♥♥♥ is honestly worse than Dark Souls' KB+M controls.
Allow us to FULLY customize our keybinds, and not some preset nonsense that makes the controls a million times more complicated.
This would suffice WAY more than what we have now.
LEFT MOUSE = RIGHT ATTACK (LIGHT)
RIGHT MOUSE = RIGHT ATTACK (HEAVY)
SHIFT = BLOCK
TAB = PARRY
SHIFT LEFT MOUSE = LEFT ATTACK (LIGHT)
SHIFT RIGHT MOSUE = LEFT ATTACK (HEAVY)
Instead we have this to deal with.
Weapons:
LEFT MOUSE = LEFT ATTACK (LIGHT)
LEFT MOUSE x2 = LEFT ATTACK (HEAVY)
RIGHT MOUSE = RIGHT ATTACK (LIGHT)
RIGHT MOUSE x2 = RIGHT ATTACK (HEAVY)
Shields:
LEFT MOUSE = BLOCK
LEFT MOUSE x2 = PARRY
RIGHT MOUSE = BLOCK
RIGHT MOUSE x2 = PARRY
Other than that, the game is absolutely brilliant. Can't say the same for keyboard+mouse inputs.
I can't use Mouse Wheel Up+ Down to switch between locked on enemies even if I don't use them as bindable keys.
I have two use two separate keys for a very similar function: One to open/close the menu, another to cancel actions.
The modifiers cause conflict with the mouse keys. So if say for instance I use shift to block and then left click to attack I will be unable to attack while holding my shield up. I have to release it. Works fine with other keys.
Xbox 360 prompts instead of keyboard and mouse ones. How ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard is it to do it properly?
Very badly arranged keys by default.
